The Good Stuff's on My Year of Doing Nothing

Just thought I'd mention that I'm keeping 2 blogs now. This one, the Butternut Woolens Knit Blog, is for mostly knitting related content, for those who are not at all interested in the dreck that is my life, but if that sounds interesting to you, go to the sidebar below the yarns and click on My Year Of Doing Nothing for philosophy from the perspective of 9 year old boys and observations about the post-divorce disaster recovery process, aka my big ball of whatthehellever.

See ya!

Cat Gets the Swine Flu

An orange tabby in Iowa is the first known cat to get swine flu from his human family. He stopped eating, became lethargic, stopped cleaning himself and rested by hunching on all four feet instead of sprawling on his side, indicating respiratory distress. The family knew a couple of research veterinarians who, after testing the cat for the more likely pneumonia, were startled to find tests proved the cat did not have pneumonia, but H1N1. It's not clear exactly how the cat was infected, but the veterinarians note he's very social and friendly.

Don't cough on the cat.

Here's the link to the complete story in the NY Times.

Some Changes, Some New Yarn

Pink Mohair trumped the greens of Glacier Pebbles, so here it is, for now anyway. Thanks to everyone who offered an email or comment, everyone had the same feelings that the pink mohair is a better composition, but not really a color people associate with me. I'll still be fooling around with the font and link colors, however, rest assured everything is working and you can still place orders.

There are now 7 colorways in the Superwash Merino: Iceberg Lake, Northern Lights, Pink Snow, Pebbles, Snowberry, Beargrass and Wildfire. Beargrass is a solid green, the others are beautiful variegates. Access buy clicking on the link in the sidebar to the right.

Enjoy!

There's A New Butternut Woolens Web Site In the Works

Now that I've learned how to add words to photos via Picnik, I've been able to create a couple of new banners for the web site. It would help me alot if you'd tell me which one you like better. Vote for Pink Mohair or Glacier Pebbles, or neither. Which ever gets the most votes will be the new banner. Thanks!
